Party Poker has long held the honor of being the largest poker room on the planet with as many as 70,000 players during peak hours if you include both Play For Money and Play For Fun players (about 15,000 real money ring game players). There are ring games, single-table and multi-table tournaments and lots of them!

This brings us to the first good reason for new players to consider Party: access to thousands of fellow players, many of them as inexperienced as you might be and therefore reasonably fair competition. Watch out though: the sharks (experienced players) know that too and they are sometimes attracted by the soft competition. If someone drops into your table, seems really friendly and then starts taking pot after pot you're probably wise to pull out and find another table. As much as you might like to think that the guy is just lucky --he'll probably even say so himself-- this sort of thing is seldom a coincidence. "Follow the money" as the famous line goes and if you find that the money points to one guy, then that guy probably isn't someone you should be messing with (yet!).

A second reason to consider Party is that they have an "easy to clear" bonus because their raked hand requirement is comparatively low, 7x to 10x your deposit. That's great, but even more significant is the fact that the definition of "raked" hand is much looser than other rooms (for example they count 5 cents rake while other poker rooms often require 50 cents or more for the hand to qualify). That makes clearing the bonus much easier for the newbies, since they usually play at micro games.

The bottom line here is that since you can get relatively easy access to the "free money" you know that you have a little room for error --it's their money you are risking not your own-- and that will allow you to bet more confidently and enjoy the game more.
